It's very simple and easy, but you have to be good, or at least moderately well at writing. If your spelling and grammar are crap, don't bother.
If your writing work is good, your reputation rises and you become more in demand for better pay. If you are irresponsible, or *sucky*, then it just ain't happenin' for you.
If you're lazy, don't bother.

Never in any way, shape, form, or fashion will you need to pay for anything, promote anything, or any nonsensical friggin' crap like that.
After all - if you get a job anywhere else, do you have to pay to get hired?

Now, listen...
There are people coming from everywhere worldwide to the site I will show you below, in order to purchase written content for newspapers, magazines, fliers, presentations, and yeah, even blogs and stuff. These are fairly desperate people, with zero creativity of their own, deadlines hovering over their heads - and they have money. Most need numerous articles (about 10-20) in one order, but you can choose to do as many of them (or none) as you wish.
They pay differently, according to the buyer and the work - for instance, a 250-350 word article will get you generally from 20-50 bucks to start, depending on the subject matter and the buyer's needs. Sometimes you will find requests for 2-3,000 word articles for $120-$150. Subjects to type on are innumerable, and you get to pick and choose from them - write about what you know. As you become more in demand, higher paying opps become available to you.
You may also type out your own articles on whatever you please, and post them up for purchase, naming your own price - you don't have to wait for requests. But requests are innumerable, and grow and change every day. All promotion for your articles is done by the site, and none if it is on you. Period.
There should be nothing posted that is hateful, negative to any races or religions or other groups, pornographic, or otherwise morally reprehensible in nature. KEEP IT "PG13".
You sign into the site, go to the requests section, contact the requester and type on your computer. Upload the word file (any format except .docx - .doc is preferred) to the site, and get paid within 36 hours or so, if you wish to be paid by PayPal... checks take a while longer to go through the postal mail, obviously.
Example; If you get a $20 order, the buyer pays the site $20-plus, and the site keeps the "plus", and sends you the $20 - this is how the site makes money.
So no, this isn't a scam... in fact, this site has been around for many years.
Buyers will supply you with keywords if this is their preference, and contact with the buyers is easy in order to get more specifics on each order if you like. If you know any SEO, then all the better.
Typing a 250 word article takes the average person about 10-15 minutes, provided the person types about something personally known. Otherwise, research on subjects not known about might take a half hour more, more or less. You might be able to bang out 3 articles in an hour and make $60-$150 in that hour, or you might be able to do much more, or much less - it depends on your writing abilities.
Okay now, there you have it - there's absolutely no excuse for not being able to make any money, and you don't have to pay for anything at all. *EVER*. Period.
